During the last week of June 2014 our J2A Confirmands had the opportunity to go on pilgrimage to Iona Scotland. The 8 youth and 3 chaperones resided on the island of Mull. While there the group experienced the meaning of living in community as they explored the island, shared chores and most importantly gained a deeper understanding of their faith heritage. The intent of the pilgrimage is to afford these young people a deeper understanding of self and their place as full members of the church.
A new group of St. James' youth is looking forward to a 2016 pilgrimage. A site has not yet been decided but the young people and advisors are exploring possibilities. They will spend time over the next many months working together to help fund their trip. Donations to the Youth Pilgrimage fund are graciously accepted and appreciated.
