Youth Ministries

Youth Group is open for all youth ages 12 through 18 and is a time of fellowship, service, and fun where Jesus is always the center of all we do. It is completely independent of the Journey to Adulthood classes that are held during the Christian Education Hour on Sunday mornings.

The SJYG (St. James’ Youth Group) meets one Sunday at church per month from 6:30PM to 7:30PM and one Saturday/Sunday per month for an event which will be held at various locations.

The St. James' All Hallows Party, sponsored each year by the Youth Group, is a parish wide event featuring games and a haunted house especially aimed at fun for our younger children.

Youth Pilgrimage: During the last week of June 2014 our J2A Confirmands had the opportunity to go on pilgrimage to Iona Scotland. Our 8 youth and 3 chaperones resided on the island of Mull. While there the group experienced the meaning of living in community as they explored the island, shared chores and most importantly gained a deeper understanding of their faith heritage. The intent of the pilgrimage is to afford these young people a deeper understanding of self and their place as full members of the church.

It is our hope to make the pilgrimage an every two year opportunity for youth who have made their confirmation and completed the J2A program.
